POTLATCH #6

Released December 23, 2014 1:25PM

DiSalvio Playground, N.Y.C.

On the corner of Mulberry and Spring Street in lower Manhattan on a painted park bench we sat. Here is the porthole where our love was first conceived. I made her laugh. She made me dream. She had these dark chocolate ringlets of hair that fell off her shoulders and into eternity. I touched them with an alien wonder. The were all that kept me from floating away. On that red-ochre, Autumn afternoon in October 1993 there was more hope in the world than any other day in the history of human beings.

The hammer is one of our son’s first ever toys.
